About Project Butterfly
"Project Butterfly" serves as the name of both my upcoming album and of a movement.
Too often, young women and men grow up without the confidence they need to succeed academically, artistically, and socially. They find themselves being compared to others- siblings, friends- and feel the need to either act out or to withdraw from the world completely. They tend to think less of themselves, sometimes lowering their will to do well.
On the womens' side, I have been running into entirely too many young ladies who don't believe that they're beautiful just because men don't pay much attention to them. It's borderline annoying to hear these ladies belittle themselves. We need to come together as a group and empower each other- instead of being jealous or coveting what we don't have.
I'm speaking mostly of the ladies because I relate- I've been there- but I would love to hear some comments from the men's side.
